To use Aprilismart Matter curtains, youneed a device or hub that serves as both a Thread Border Router and a Matter Controller.
Examples:
Apple Home: A HomePod mini acts as both roles simultaneously —setup in one step.
Multi-platform control: Pair with HomePod mini first for Apple Home, then share the Matter pairing code with Echo Show (Alexa’s Matter Controller) to control from Alexa as well.
Important note: Only one Thread Border Router is needed, but each additional platform (e.g., Alexa, Google Home) requires its own Matter Controller.
About Home Assistant Home Assistant users can run a software-based Matter Controller on Home Assistant Green/Yellow, Raspberry Pi, or NAS. Pair it with a built-in or external Thread Border Router (e.g., HomePod mini or Connect ZBT-1) to fully control our Thread curtains.
