Choose Your Mount

Inside Mount

The shade fits inside the window opening. The supplied guide lists a minimum window-frame depth of 2 inches for Inside Mount.

Outside Mount

The shade mounts outside the window frame. Use this method when you need additional coverage or do not have enough inside depth.

2

Inside Mount

Measure inside the window opening. Use the exact diagram shown below.

Inside Mount trapezoid measurement diagram showing Base, Height, Hypotenuse and 90 degree bottom corners
1. Measure the Base

Measure the horizontal bottom edge from one side to the other within the window opening.

2. Measure the Height

Measure the longest vertical edge within the window opening.

3. Measure the Hypotenuse

Measure the sloped top edge directly from one endpoint to the other within the window opening.

Important: Order the exact opening size with no deductions. The factory will apply an approximately 1/8 inch deduction during production.
Both bottom corners (α and β) must be exactly 90°. If the frame is splayed or recessed, use the narrowest width.
3

Outside Mount

Measure outside the window frame for the desired coverage. The diagram uses the original 3-inch example.

Outside Mount trapezoid measurement diagram showing Base, Height, Hypotenuse and 3 inch overlap
1. Measure the Base

Measure the horizontal width outside the frame and add 4–6 inches total, typically 2–3 inches on each side.

2. Measure the Height

Measure the longest vertical edge outside the frame and add the desired overlap, typically 2–3 inches at the top and bottom.

3. Measure the Hypotenuse

Measure the direct sloped edge connecting the new extended Base and Height points.

Check for obstructions such as window cranks, thick molding, light switches, or adjacent walls before ordering.

Check Before You Order

I selected the correct mount type.
I measured Base, Height, and Hypotenuse.
Both bottom corners are 90°.
For Inside Mount, I did not make my own deduction.
For Outside Mount, I checked overlap and surrounding clearance.
